Although medical schools may not consider high school transcripts as a factor in admissions, strong academics in high school can prepare college applicants for medical courses. Peterson College Bound recommends that high school students who wish to pursue a doctorate degree take advanced courses in math and science such as chemistry, biology, physics, and calculus. A strong academic background helps, but high school students should also have a broad curriculum that includes the humanities, history, English, and communications.

Admission to medical school is limited and competition is fierce. Applicants must graduate from college with high grades, score high on medical college entrance exams, provide letters of recommendation from professionals, and demonstrate leadership qualities. There are no undergraduate majors, but medical schools select those with pre-medical backgrounds such as biology or chemistry. Undergraduate courses must include courses in biology, organic chemistry, general chemistry, English, physics, psychology, sociology, and mathematics.
Medical school is a combination of classroom, laboratory and clinical experience. The first two years of medical school are dominated by classroom and laboratory courses in subjects such as anatomy, psychology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and clinical culture, as well as medical courses such as genetics, immunology, and cell biology. The second two years mainly concern patients who have received medical treatment, for example, in medical clinics or hospitals under the supervision of an experienced doctor. According to the department, the curriculum includes courses in internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, family medicine, surgery and psychiatry.
Doctors typically complete a one-year course followed by a three- to eight-year residency program, depending on their skills. Residency courses can last a long time. For example, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine limits resident work hours to no more than 80 hours per week, an average of four weeks. The cost of studying in doctoral studies and internships depends on the specialty of the doctoral program.
The healthcare industry is one of the largest and fastest growing sectors of the economy. As part of this project, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 13 percent increase in new jobs for physicians and surgeons between 2016 and 2026. There should be more opportunities for employment in districts and urban communities. Salaries vary widely based on skills. The BLS reported a median income of $208,000 for general practitioners and surgeons in 2016, but anesthesiologists and other medical specialties can earn more than $400,000 a year.

Ever since I started reading Greek mythology as a child, I have always been interested in understanding archeology and ancient traditions. I have worked as an archaeologist for many years and look forward to answering any archeology questions you may have. I graduated from York University and worked as an archaeologist in France, Ireland and England; I even helped teach students about the archaeological excavations of the Silk Road Palace in Kazakhstan! I will hear from you soon. Odile ask a question…

You all asked the same question, so if all goes well, I’ll answer you all.
You might think history would be an obvious choice, but a solid understanding of 20th century European politics won’t get you anywhere near the Bronze Age. That said, I think a fascination with history inspires a lot of people who study archaeology, and obviously we often excavate sites that belong to a historical period, so anything in history is probably a good place to start.
Now, all archaeologists do is communicate, and we do it through the written word. I think you’d be surprised how many archaeologists, even beginners, have to write something down. We begin by writing reference sheets and page registers to document everything we excavate, whether written or archival documents. It is important that these records are accurate, clear and concise so that a written report of the excavation can be made. Additionally, during the project you may be responsible for writing a site report and transcribing the site for publication in a relevant archaeological journal. Therefore, I suggest that the subject you study should be English.
Now, as I’m sure you know, archeology is a multidisciplinary field of study. So, I would say that if you want to specialize in your field (archaeology-variability, archeology-metallurgy, archeology-environment, archeology-dating, etc.) it would be a good idea to study science.

Finally, it might be a good idea to study geography. This can help because it is often important to understand how a site is integrated into the archaeological record and therefore determine the best method for excavating the site.
For myself, I studied Archeology (I was lucky enough to have it as a subject where I studied), English, Maths, Ecology and Human Biology.
I would like to add that choosing a course is a very important part of your studies and you intend to study for many years. To do this, I suggest you choose topics that you like!

As you can see from the image above, most medical schools require chemistry, biology, or both.
And interestingly, the medical school does not prescribe a single course. This is the University of Newcastle which can be an option for students who chose medicine later in their studies and did not study traditional sciences.
For example, the University of Manchester states that you should take biology or chemistry as your first subject. But you must also take; Biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, mathematics or mathematics as a second subject. Then they let you choose a third lesson.
Medical schools often ignore other courses and do not count them toward your medical school. In most cases, medical schools do not accept the following courses:
The Ohio State University Exploration Bachelors 1101
As you can see in the table above, most medical schools list two specific courses of your choice, unless the third is one of the above lists, you can choose any course of your choice. We recommend that you choose a subject that you enjoy and think you can achieve an A grade or above.
